If I Had a Robot....

Robots, Robots Everywhere!

Today, we read the story If I Had a Robot, by Dan Yaccarino. We imagined what we would do if we had our very own robot. A lot of the students wanted to make robots that could help them with their homework, cleaning their rooms, or doing chores. I would personally love a robot to help me with shelving books!

After we read the story, everyone made their way into the makerspace to get started on their creations. We ended up with all types of robots, created from all sorts of materials--from egg cartons and cd cases, to Legos, blocks and buttons.

The only instructions I gave the students was to create a robot using the materials available. The creativity was flowing, and once again, I was impressed at the problem solving and self-reliance present.

Here are some of the amazing robots created!
